Asakusa tour starts 9:30am at Kaminari-mon gate (Sensō-ji entrance), ends 4:00pm at Tokyo Sky Tree.
1. Sensō-ji temple
Sensō-ji is an ancient Buddhist temple located in Asakusa, Tokyo, Japan. It is Tokyo’s oldest temple, and one of its most significant. Formerly associated with the Tendai sect of Buddhism, it became independent after World War II. Adjacent to the temple is a five-story pagoda, Shinto shrine, the Asakusa Shrine, as well as many shops with traditional goods in the Nakamise-dōri.
Kaminari-mon is The main gate of Sensoji Temple. It is a symbol of Asakusa, a shooting spot where matrix can be created. Wind god on the right side towards the gate, thunder god on the left side. A large lantern with a weight of about 1543 pounds is hung in the center of the gate.
Nakamise-dōri is one of the oldest shopping streets in Japan where visitors are busy.
Stores selling souvenirs, confections, etc. stand on both sides of the Omotesando, which is about 250 meters long from Kaminarimon to Hōzōmon, and it is called “Nakamise Dori”. There are 54 stores on the east side and 35 stores on the west side.
“Asakusa Kibidango Azuma” is a demonstration of “Kibidango” which was in existence during the Japan Edo period.
“Kibidango” is sweet dumpling made with mochi flour and (sometimes) millet flour.
Depending on days ,they sell 10,000 Kibidangos in one day.
“Kagetsudo” is a melon bread store , started in 1945.
It is famous for “Jumbo meronpan” with a diameter of about 7.87 inches.
They sell 3000 melon breads in one day.
“Kineya” is famous for “Okaki”(kaki-mochi) and “senbei”.
They are boiled and fried using glutinous rice.
“Okaki” is made from the famous Kogane Mochi. It is fried with special oil including safflower.
“Asakusa Chouchinmonaka” is specialized in Monaka.
“Monaka”is wafer cake filled with red bean paste.

“Asakusa Menchi” is specialized in Menchi Katsu.
“Menchi Katsu” is Ground Meat Cutlet.
“Kimuraya”is oldest “Ningyouyaki” store in Asakusa, started in 1872.
“Ningyouyaki” is sweet bean paste in the shape of dolls.
“Kurodaya”is specialized in “Washi” , started in 1856.
“Washi” is Japanese traditional paper. Washi has features of thin,durable,and long-lasting.
Kurodaya makes letter paper,post card,goods & accessories using Washi.
“Araibunsendou” has been making”Sensu” &”Uchiwa” for more than 120 years.
Everything is handmade. Custom made is also available.
“Sensu” is a folding fan, and used as an accessory for Kimonos.
“Uchiwa” is a paper fan.
ーEdo kiriko Ojimaー
“Asakusa Edo Kiriko Ojima” is a specialty store by artisans of the traditional craft “Edo Kiriko”. It is also possible to make custom products such as gifts and presents.
“Edo Kiriko” is special glass cut by sculpting glass with emery power. The history of Edo Kiriko started in 1834.
They also provide Edo Kiriko Trial Class !
Hondo (main hall)
On the way to Hondo (main hall), you can see Hōzōmon, Gojūnotō, Joukouro, etc.
“Hōzōmon” contains the “Genpan Issaikyou” and “Shyaka-nyorai” statues of important cultural properties.
“Gojūnotō” is a Stupa about 60 yards high.
“Joukouro” is a place where you can provide Buddha with stick of incense and bathe in the smoke to purify your body and mind. It is said that it works for the bad parts of the body. You can purchase the incense in the perfume shop on the right side of the main hall.
The statue of “Kannon” is scolded in “Hondo”(Main hall).
Huge paintings are drawn on the ceiling.
Rental Kimono sightseeing
If you want, you can rental “Kimono” and go sightseeing Asakusa.
The Kimono is a traditional Japanese garment.

2. Tokyo Sky Tree 1:30pm
Tokyo Skytree is a broadcasting, restaurant, and observation tower in Sumida, Tokyo, Japan. It became the tallest structure in Japan in 2010 and reached its full height of 634.0 metres (2,080 ft) in March 2011, making it the tallest tower in the world, displacing the Canton Tower,and the second tallest structure in the world after the Burj Khalifa (829.8 m/2,722 ft).
The tower is the primary television and radio broadcast site for the Kantō region.
You can have a meal while watching the scenery at Sky Tree Cafe.
Tokyo Solamachi is a very large shopping, dining and entertainment complex at the base and under Tokyo Skytree. There are around 300 shops and restaurants in this new and large Tokyo shopping mall near Asakusa. There is an entire floor with original souvenir shops offering character goods that peak the interest of many tourists.

Almost of them are Japanese foods stores.
Gindaco is a very famous “Takoyaki” store in Japan.
“Takoyaki” is Octopus Dumplings.

“Kaisendon” is rice bowl topped with seafood.
Ippudo, also known as Hakata Ippūdō in Japan, is a Japanese ramen restaurant chain with locations worldwide. Ippudo is well known for its tonkotsu ramen, and has been described as “the most famous tonkotsu ramen shop in the country”.
